Do you run payroll or pay my employees?
No. Shiftpier tracks time and calculates hours, overtime and gross pay. You send that to the payroll service you already use — Gusto, QuickBooks Online, or any provider that takes a CSV — and it handles taxes and paychecks.
How is overtime calculated?
Over 40 hours a week by default. You can turn on daily overtime and double-time (California rules are built in) and set your workweek. Rules are set per business, and every change is logged.
Does Shiftpier track my employees' location all day?
No. On Team and Crew plans, the phone shares its location only at the moment someone clocks in or out, and only to check it against the location's geofence. A punch from outside the geofence is flagged for a manager — it's never blocked. Starter doesn't use location at all.
Can hours be changed after the fact?
Managers can fix mistakes, but every edit needs a reason and the original punch is kept. Once a pay period is exported, it's locked. Time records are never deleted.
Who counts toward my price?
Only people who clock in. Owners, managers who don't track their own hours, and bookkeepers are free.
What happens after the free trial?
You get every feature for 14 days with no card. At the end, pick a plan to keep going. If you don't, your data stays available to export — hours and payroll records are kept as wage-and-hour law requires.
